Business Head

Position Summary:

Business Head is responsible for the Product management for the Brand in the Cookware and Appliances space. He will independently hold the P&L responsibility and drive REVENUE through the Sales team with a strategic objective to achieve both short term & long-term goals of the Company. Scope of work ranges across diversified channels – General Trade/E Com/Modern Trade/Corporate Sales/Export, diversified product categories, Sourcing and marketing initiatives across ATL / Digital / BTL platforms.

Major Responsibilities:

  • He/ She will initiate and implement measurable strategies that aid in driving the business’s revenue and profit goals and increasing awareness at all levels of the brand’s reach – regional, national, and overseas.
  • Developing Strategic Road Map (Long Range Plan / Tactical) for the categories, including Annual Marketing Plans to support business objective YOY.
  • Drive Product Development Strategy, Make or Buy decision, Sourcing Strategy, Category growth, Pricing Strategy, Placement Strategy, Go to Market strategy, Inventory Control, Customer Loyalty, Brand Preference and Promotion Strategy for Categories to strengthen Brand equity and Brand Preference.
  • Direct management of a large team of well qualified and experienced Category Managers and ensuring & guiding them to meet their targets.
  • Lead the implementation of defined NPD projects working with category managers / to launch new brands/ extensions/ offerings that build on the category offerings.
  • Reviewing and approving product and packaging for major launches and re-launches.
  • Carry research projects to improve consumer understanding and identify consumer insights.
  • Create a 360 Degree deployment plan on ATL , BTL& Social Media, and managing Digital Marketing campaigns thro’ the Marketing Department to maximise brand visibility and brand campaigns, continuously build insights to improve campaign deliverables and digital content excellence.
  • Analyse the past sales data to understand the past programs/ activations/ schemes and suggest improvements to the category/ channel. Analyse the competitor movements and promotions according to the current trends.
  • Drive the entire Product Life cycle management from New Product Development to Go to market Strategy to Maximizing the Market share across all Categories, across geographies and Channels.
  • Mapping Competition / Markets trends / Channels to constantly evolve the Product Strategy of the Company.
  • Should be able to generate revenues & improve the business in each of the categories by conducting market research, competition analysis and identifying the gaps and plugging it.

Responsible for developing the sourcing base for certain section of the categories which are sourced from China and locally in India. This would involve vendor management, and commercial negotiations with the vendors.

  • Designing Trade Schemes, Trade Marketing activities and Pricing across all categories.
  • Determining product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Managing and guiding a team of highly competitive and motivated set of about 8 Category managers, from IIMs & Major B-Schools, to achieve their Category Level Revenue& Profitability Targets and the Sourcing team in China& India.
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting for SKUs across all Sales Verticals.
  • Inventory Management.

Key Strength& Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate with an Engineering & Management degree.
  • Should have a good sense of business and P/L.
  • Has to be creative, strategic, analytical and think outside the box.
  • Ability to deal with cross functional teams & get the work done.
  • Consumer insight generation through observing on consumer Behaviour.
  • Good understanding of ATL, BTL and digital marketing, developing new vendors, price negotiations & sourcing.
  • Commercially savvy.
  • The person should have a good understanding of Market gap &need identification, Product Development, Pricing, Planning and Competitive Analysis.
  • High on energy, assertive with high maturity levels to deal with multiple stake holders.
  • Not more than 45 years and dynamic.
