Job Description
As the Manufacturing Head of Iron Cast Foundry, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of our manufacturing processes. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, drive operational excellence, and ensure that production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop production plans and schedules to meet customer orders and delivery deadlines. Coordinate with sales, engineering, and other departments to ensure alignment and optimize production efficiency.
2. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize productivity. Implement lean manufacturing principles and advanced techniques to streamline operations.
3. Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all iron castings meet customer specifications and industry standards. Implement quality management systems and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
4. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of manufacturing personnel, including supervisors, operators, and technicians. Provide guidance, training, and support to enhance skills and performance levels.
5. Resource Management Manage resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize production output and minimize costs. Monitor inventory levels and procurement activities to ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
6. Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices. Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to minimize workplace accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to track performance against targets. Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
8 Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and innovation. Identify opportunities for automation, technology integration, and process enhancements to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
– Minimum of 18-20 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with significant experience in iron casting foundry operations.
– Proven track record of success in leading manufacturing teams and achieving production targets in a dynamic environment.
– Strong technical knowledge of iron casting processes, equipment, and materials.
– Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
– Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals.
– Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
